As part of its commitment to reducing supply chain emissions, Honda has engaged Trio (formerly Edison Energy) to provide complimentary resources to guide suppliers in their sustainability journey..
Trio is a global sustainability and energy advisory company, helping large commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations navigate the energy transition.
The Honda Green Excellence Academy presented an Expo webinar in April 2024 to introduce Honda’s supply chain partners to the decarbonization actions supported by Trio this year. The three webinars that follow introduce feature actions suppliers can take to make progress on their decarbonization strategy, including an overview of the action, the expected level of commitment, and the desired outcomes.
Watch this webinar recording to learn about the actions you can take to decarbonize your facilities by participating in the Honda Green Excellence Academy. The Expo reviews the actions Trio is launching for Honda suppliers related to setting a decarbonization target and working to achieve a decarbonization target.
Buy Renewable Energy Through Your Utility
Watch this webinar recording to learn how Trio will work with Honda supply chain partners to support enrollment in renewable energy procurement programs through utility companies. The first utility Trio is focusing on is Indiana Michigan Power, and their GoGreen program. However, suppliers can indicate interest in this type of support for other utility programs where they have facilities as well.
Implement Onsite Solar at Your Facility
Watch this webinar recording to learn about implementing onsite solar at your facilities. In particular, this program will introduce a cohort Trio will create to aggregate Honda suppliers’ buying power to improve the cost competitiveness of onsite solar for suppliers.
Set a Decarbonization Target
Watch this webinar recording to learn about the tools and resources Trio has created to assist you in setting a decarbonization target. All resources are complementary of the Honda Green Excellence Academy program, and walk Honda suppliers through pulling M2030 data all the way to gaining internal leadership buy-in.
Buy Lower Carbon Power
Join this webinar to learn about procuring electricity with a lower emission factor. Ideal for Honda suppliers in deregulated electricity market, this hour will walk through the steps a Trio energy advisor can take to select lower carbon emitting electricity for your facility, while also procuring power at a cost competitive rate.
As part of the Honda Green Excellence Academy, Trio has developed Action Playbooks to provide suppliers with a clear set of steps they can take to implement decarbonization projects.
The purpose of this Green Program Enrollment Playbook is to provide you with a step-by-step guide to enroll in the Indiana Michigan Power GoGreen program. The steps are outlined below with linked resources to support the process.
The purpose of this feasibility assessment is to is to allow you to enter your site details to determine if you are good fit and recommend what program option may be most suitable for you to enroll in. Instructions can be found in the workbook to support the process. Once complete, please return to Trio (hondagreenexcellence@trioadvisory.com) and we will follow-up to discuss site feasibility and any next steps.
The purpose of this Onsite Solar Playbook is to guide you towards the implementation of onsite solar.
The playbook particularly focuses on the first step of implementing onsite solar — making an initial assessment of whether your site(s) is a good candidate for rooftop or ground-mount solar. Upon completion of this feasibility assessment, your company will be able to identify whether it is worthwhile to put additional resources towards pursuing solar at any of your sites.
As you work through the checklist in the Onsite Solar Action Playbook, enter the corresponding information into the Onsite Solar Screening Workbook.
This Decarbonization Target-Setting Action Playbook has been developed to help Honda’s suppliers create a decarbonization strategy that achieves Honda’s decarbonization requirements and provides decision useful information on the business and financial implications of executing that decarbonization strategy.
Equipped with this information, it is our goal that Honda’s suppliers will be able to set decarbonization targets, which will help secure the resources needed to meet those targets.
As you work through the checklist in the Decarbonization Target-Setting Action Playbook, enter the corresponding information into the Decarbonization Target-Setting Tool and refer to Honda's Supplier Green Excellence Resource, Supplier Sustainability Excellence Framework, and Supplier Sustainability Requirements Communication.
The purpose of this feasibility assessment is to gauge whether any of your sites are suitable candidates for procuring retail electricity. We’ve included instructions on how to complete the assessment in the workbook. Once complete, please return to Trio (hondagreenexcellence@trioadvisory.com) and we will follow-up to discuss site feasibility and any next steps.
