Clean Energy Opportunities Through Utilities & Retailers

In this session, you will learn:

  • Clean energy options available through utilities
  • How you can explore green options through retailers in deregulated territories
  • How to be an advocate for clean energy

Exploring Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs) and Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) for Your Facilities

In this session, you will learn:

  • How RECs factor into your emissions reductions
  • How a VPPA works
  • High level considerations on whether your company may be a fit for PPAs

This guide first reviews several fundamental concepts that drive the availability of renewable energy options for U.S. customers. Then, it offers a decision tree that enables suppliers to understand what their renewable energy procurement options look like for each of their locations in the U.S.

It includes detailed guidance on the large utility renewable energy options available in the top 15 states most common to Honda suppliers. For the remainder of the states, there is higher-level guidance on options available in each state, and how to research the finer details.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Which states are the most economically attractive for onsite solar
  • High level considerations on whether your facility may be a fit for onsite solar
  • What is community solar, and where can you pursue it

U.S. buyers have more options than ever before to power their operations with renewable energy. However, buyers may find it challenging to find the right opportunity to procure renewable energy, as options vary geographically, and often by utility.

This report points readers to the resources they need to understand and pursue onsite and community solar procurement in the United States. It offers a deep dive into onsite and community solar programs and guides in 15 states that are most common to Honda suppliers.

Energy Efficiency

In this session, you will learn:

  • What to expect from an energy audit
  • Energy efficiency incentives commonly available at the state, city or utility level
  • How to pursue incentives for your facility

This guide provides an overview of the type of incentives that may be available, as well as the best sources of information for exploring funding opportunities for your energy efficiency projects.

Determine what’s feasible

Evaluate potential decarbonization opportunities to determine the feasibility of committing to a particular action.

Sustainability Strategy

The purpose of this feasibility assessment is to help Trio understand your company's ability to commit resources to setting a target. We will use this info to provide feedback on which resources may be most useful to you. To help us identify good candidates for the Cohort, we will also ask for your interest in participating.

Renewable Energy

The purpose of this Onsite Solar Feasibility Assessment is to guide you towards the implementation of onsite solar.

The feasibility assessment particularly focuses on the first step of implementing onsite solar — making an initial assessment of whether your site(s) is a good candidate for rooftop or ground-mount solar. Upon completion of this feasibility assessment, your company will be able to identify whether it is worthwhile to put additional resources towards pursuing solar at any of your sites.

Please fill out the form below to download the feasibility assessment.

The purpose of this feasibility assessment is to gauge whether any of your sites are suitable candidates for procuring retail electricity. We’ve included instructions on how to complete the assessment in the workbook.

Implement tangible next steps

The Action Webinar Series was developed to introduce Honda’s supply chain partners to decarbonization actions supported by Trio.

This educational series consists of four webinars (including a preliminary expo webinar) that feature actions suppliers can take to make progress on their decarbonization strategy, including an overview of the action, the expected level of commitment, and the desired outcomes.

As part of the series, Trio has developed Action Playbooks to compliment each webinar and provide suppliers with a clear set of steps they can take to implement decarbonization projects.

Or you can schedule a consultation call with Trio's team of experts.

Sustainability Strategy

Watch this webinar recording to learn how Trio will work with Honda supply chain partners to support enrollment in renewable energy procurement programs through utility companies. The first utility Trio is focusing on is Indiana Michigan Power, and their GoGreen program. However, suppliers can indicate interest in this type of support for other utility programs where they have facilities as well.

This Decarbonization Target-Setting Action Playbook has been developed to help Honda’s suppliers create a decarbonization strategy that achieves Honda’s decarbonization requirements and provides decision useful information on the business and financial implications of executing that decarbonization strategy.

Equipped with this information, it is our goal that Honda’s suppliers will be able to set decarbonization targets, which will help secure the resources needed to meet those targets.

Renewable Energy

Join this webinar to learn about procuring electricity with a lower emission factor. Ideal for Honda suppliers in deregulated electricity market, this hour will walk through the steps a Trio energy advisor can take to select lower carbon emitting electricity for your facility, while also procuring power at a cost competitive rate.
